Hello everyone.
This blogger hasn't been to an independent show in San Francisco in a couple of years.
However, this one caught my eye. The United Irish Cultural Center (pictured above) is celebrating it's 50th year as a center and will be hosting a pro wrestling event. West Coast Pro Wrestling, one of the better independent promotions on the West Coast, will be holding an event, Cruel Summer. Kevin Blackwood, the WCPW champion is going up against former WWE star, Cedrick Alexander. The three hour show will also include a Golden Gate Gauntlet match, one that this blogger has never seen before.
The Irish Cultural Center is an intimate place to watch pro wrestling. The assumption is that it holds 150-200 people for an event. It's very similar to numerous pro wrestling events in Southeast Asia. This blogger will try and share photos and video next weekend!
A couple of days earlier, this blogger received two e-mails from WWE that there will be two shows in Northern California on October 17th with Smackdown in San Jose and October 20th with RAW in Sacramento. What's really cool about this will be the backlash that will happen after the Crown Jewel event in Perth, Australia the weekend before. Also, this (or these) shows take place a couple of weeks after returning from vacation so the mind and body will be ready for a wrestling show or shows.
The Smackdown show is a better one for me because of half the distance being about 75 kilometers south versus 150 kilometers east.
