Headlocks And Headbangs 2 Recap

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the late post, and my apologies.

The Headlocks And Headbangs 2 show this past Friday night was "one for the ages!"

This blogger knew that these shows were really good from what he saw in the last version at the Sari Sari Bar in Makati City.

I'm not going to get into much detail here.  For much of Friday, until about 5pm, there was a slight head cold but a migraine headache.

Mysteriously, after snacking on a banana, felt a lot better.  By 6:30pm, there was the wild Grab ride from the hotel.  The driver did a great job and got me there in about 75 minutes.  One must remember that its Friday and rush hour!  I thought I was a dead duck because of being late!

The greeting this fan got from everyone when he reached the bar "was out of this world!"  They hadn't started yet!  Like wow!

Honestly, now this fan really sees and feels how wrestlers like Zach Sabre Jr. and Chris Brookes feel when they are here in the Philippines.  They are treated as family!  This fan feels the same way.

The five bands who performed were outstanding.  This blogger had to move a little ways back from the stage because of the sensitive ears but they were clear and the music was outstanding.

The wrestling show itself was amazing, unpredictable and unexpected.  Going from a ring to mat format and visa versa take a transitional change with wrestlers and referees.  I want to point this out because, not all promotions in Southeast Asia, have a dual surface such as mat and ring.

There was a debut of one lady wrestler by the name of Starling!  She, more than held her own, against Ken Cifer in the first match of the evening.  It's great to see women both in PUSO and FPW and bringing in more women out of their training camps.  Getting women to wrestle anywhere in the world is not as easy as one sees!

I believe there were five total matches in the show.  The final one between The Red Lightning, Robin Sane and Jomar was definitely one for the ages.  It was a best two of three falls where the loser of the fall had to drink a pint of beer!

For the first time in this fan's 58 years in following wrestling in North America and now Southeast Asia, he was, let's say, "involved in the final match of the evening."

While taking photos, someone (I won't mention his name because I haven't asked him if I could mention him), encouraged me to come out and chop the chest of one of my pinoy wrestling heroes, Robin Sane.  Several other fans did it prior to this blogger.

Being shy and actually nervous, slowly, I came out and chopped him with the right hand.  Honestly, this fan doesn't remember if he was moaning or yelling but I heard the sound of the chop.  Several people told me to do it again, but I declined!

The response received following was really cool.  I'm not a professional wrestler and don't get involved in matches.  However, it took a few minutes, thanks to a couple of wrestlers, and fans, to realize that everything was okay.  It was an experience never to be forgotten!

The video of this is on The Wrestling Wrestling Podcast Facebook page if anyone wants to view it.  Looking at the video, this blogger has some work to do in doing a chop properly!

In closing, I'll get results out soon.  In the meantime, than you to everyone this fan saw and conversed with.  The Sari Sari bar is a great establishment and they deserved a lot of kudos for a great evening.

Also,  there needs to be more of these type of shows.  They are good clean fun with fun wrestling and great bands entertaining.

And just think, this is not the last bar show on this trip.  SETUP Thailand is going to have one of these this coming Thursday.  And yes, I've been invited to it!  Will share more on that later in the week.
