Interview #17 - Jason Rex

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile since the last interview on the blog.  In late 2024, Pro Wrestling Today interviewed LegenDarius, the great mentor with the Philippines promotion, Filipino Pro Wrestling.  Today, we are going to talk with a member of the stable, Jason Rex.

Jason Rex is undefeated since making his debut in FPW last summer.  As the FPW and Pinoy wrestling fans know, he defeated AB3.  He has won twice since then (once in a tag team match with LegenDarius).

Jason Rex has wrestled previously in Pinoy wrestling history.  He was known as Brad Cruz, part of the Manila Bae tag team.  LegenDarius mentioned this to this blogger during the interview with the great mentor!  Also, he wrestled in singles competition.

Likely because of the Covid pandemic (and it's none of this blogger's business), he was out of wrestling for awhile.  This has happened to a lot of wrestlers throughout the world and, especially, Southeast Asia.  The pandemic affected the lives of wrestlers and definitely wrestling promotions.  This blogger is, more than happy, to see any wrestler and/or promotion recover from what affected the lives of everyone on this planet!

Recently, I provided Jason some questions.  Here is how the interview came out.  Hope all of you enjoy it!

Wayne:  Jason, thanks so much for doing the interview.  When did you begin in pro wrestling?

Jason:  My debut as Brad Cruz was in 2017.

Wayne:  When at wrestling school (academy or training camp), who was your original trainer or treainers?

Jason:  I was trained by PWR coaches but now I'm trained by FPW coaches.

Wayne:  What is your favorite promotion today?

Jason:  My favorite promotion is WWE and FPW, but I watch other promotions.

Wayne:  Your thoughts on SIGMA and being a part of the faction with AB3 and LegenDarius?

Jason:  LegenDarius and AB3........I consider them as my lucky charm in my wrestling career.

Wayne:  Your thoughts on pro wrestling today and it's future?

Jason: My thoughts on pro wrestling in the Philippines is that it will be more bright!

Jason, thank you for sharing some insight on your career and now.  With the guidance of LegenDarius and a great teammate in AB3, SIGMA is definitely going to put Pinoy wrestling on notice in 2025 and perhaps beyond!  Also, Jason mentioned to me, and to mention, that the character, Brad Cruz is dead!

PWL Super Show Update #5

Hello everyone!

Here is an update on the Champions vs. All Star 10 man tag team match for the 2025 Australian Wrestling Super Show.

It will be Zak Sabbath, Levi Nixon, PWL Champion - Ricky Utomi, Jake Taylor & Thirteen vs. Edward Dusk, Matt Hayter, Yeet Stevens, Emman Azman & Jesse Love.

The event will take place next Friday, February 14th at the Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane, Australia at 8:30pm.  Only standing room tickets remain as of this post.  Please check the Pro Wrestling League (Australia) Facebook page for more information.

The reason for the Friday show IS because of a PLE in Brisbane on Saturday called AEW Grand Slam Australia at the Brisbane Entertainment Center.  Just saying!  Have a good weekend everyone!

Causeway Jam Update #1

Hello everyone!

There have been several matches set for the Causeway Jam event to take place on Saturday, February 22nd.  The venue is the Grapplemax Studios in Singapore.  First match begins at 7:30pm.  One match has been added to the show.

An International Triple Threat Match featuring KAIZUL from Malaysia Pro Wrestling vs. Jullian vs. Kelvin (the last two from Grapplemax).

With this being three wrestlers and two promotions, a lot of storylines could take place here.  Kelvin and Jullian were former allies.  Also, KAIZUL has something to prove as he would like to, one day, be the top wrestler in MYPW, whether it's singles and/or tag team competition.  This match will definitely be an interesting one.

For more information on the show, and limited tickets, please visit either the Grapplemax Pro Wrestling Singapore or Malaysia Pro Wrestling Facebook pages.  Both promotions can also be found on social media platforms at Instagram and You Tube.  Thank you.

Causeway Jam Main Event (Part Two)

Hello everyone.

For those of you that read the recent Causeway Jam Main Event post, thank you for reading.

This blogger would like to share the other side of the story, and that is The Wonderboy.  This blogger wants this to be only fair because of being neutral of the upcoming championship match.

First off, I've watched The Wonderboy, as I've watched Hotshot from Grapplemax, on video.  The Wonderboy has always been grateful when posting material on my blog regarding him, as well as, Malaysia Pro Wrestling.  It's something always appreciated when he's responded to messages!

The Wonderboy has done very well in the eight years with Malaysia Pro Wrestling.  He has been a Malaysia Pro Wrestling Southeast Asia Champion.  Currently, he is the SPW Southeast Asian Tag Team Champion with Miles Karu (known as The Juicy Boyz).  They defeated The Horrors in a historical match last November at the Champions Quest show in Malaysia.  The team has defended the title once, in Singapore.  Also, they have held the titles for over 80 days.

Since this is a combined event, being Causeway Jam, and the match features some of the best, if not the best from both promotions,  it's only fair that The Wonderboy gets his props like I did with Hotshot in the last post.

All we can say is that the championship match is going to be one to watch not just in Malaysia and Singapore, but throughout Southeast Asia.  Undoubtedly, the wrestling fans will see a historical match at a historical night at the Grapplemax Studios.
