Blessed!

Hello everyone.

When seeing the word "blessed", there are a lot of things that race through this wrestling fan's mind.

I think of blessed meaning "in good fortune."  There are definitely religious meanings of the word.

When I think of professional wrestling, when the word blessed comes up, the first wrestler that comes to mind, and this is fact, is Chino Guinto!

Chino is a class act and one of the first pinoy wrestlers I followed on You Tube video.  I've always enjoyed the way he's conducted himself in and out of the ring.  Getting a chance to meet him following the August 2023 Filipino Pro Wrestling, FPW Astig show was a dream.  It was also a dream in meeting most of the FPW roster that day at the PMC Spotlight Theater in Circuit Makati.

In October 2023, this blogger had a chance to interview him on the blog.  A lot happened with this blogger after the show and was catching up on wrestling happenings.  Here is the link of the interview I did with Chino.

Late in 2023, last year, and into early 2025, Chino had a great winning streak of matches going.  This fan's reaction was that it may have been his best set of matches in his career going back to his days with PWR.  He was taking on all comers.  In fact, he wrestled, I believe in Vietnam at a VPW show, against one of their top talents.

The streak began with Richie Paraiso.  Then, it was AB3, Dax Xaviera, Jan Evander, Ralph Imabayashi, Duke Ortega and Mike Madrigal in March of this year.

Because of a self stipulation of "winning the FPW Title and not losing a match or retire" during this stretch of matches, Chino was forced to retire in a very unfair way.

In March, there was the semi finals for the #1 Contender's spot for the FPW Championship.  It was held then by Jeff Cobb who was with New Japan Pro Wrestling at the time.  He would eventually relinquish the title later when he joined WWE.

In March 2025, the semi finals would have Quatro going against Robynn in an early match which Quatro won.  The other semi final later in the show was Chino going against Mike Madrigal.  There was no mention from fans that day who packed Baked Studios that there would be a "surprise" that stunned them when leaving the venue.

Chino would defeat Mike Madrigal in what appeared that would close the show.  According to sources who shared this with this blogger, an official, who substituted for promoter, Red Ollero, IMMEDIATELY announced a match following Chino's victory.  Defeating Mike Madrigal, whether it is at a show or a Sunday workout is no small task.  The match would take a lot out of any wrestler, even Quatro!

Quatro defeated Chino, and at the time, he would become the #1 contender for the FPW Championship.  Certainly, to most of the fans at the Baked Studios that day, it was an unfair situation.  Others would look at it differently.

At the last show, FPW Astig on July 13th, there would be a major surprise.  Quatro would be awarded the FPW Title by Red Ollero, and not the official who was at the March show.  In promotions that this fan has seen through the years, that has happened with a #1 contender for a championship that has been vacated.

This, and the actions afterwards did take place, despite sources in the "wrestling universe" mentioning otherwise.  This blogger has fact and double fact checked this, as well as, messaged fans and wrestlers who were at the show.  What happened is the correct version and this blogger will, and always will stick to the facts!

Mike Madrigal, the first FPW Champion came out, and wanted a match, so much that he announced that he would put his career on the line!  It just so happened that the match took place between Quatro and Madrigal for the FPW Title.

Late in the match, there would be a distraction and, eventually, interference by The Yolo Twins, part of Vandals Manila.  It would give Quatro the opportunity to grab the title belt and hit Mike with it.  The referee apparently saw this and would disqualify Quatro.  Because it wasn't a pinfall or submission, Quatro retained the title.  It didn't end there however.

There was the beginning of a "beat down" of Mike from Vandals Manila.  Then, someone with the hooded sweatshirt rushed into the ring, basically cleaned house, did a foot stomp on one of The Yolo Twins and made the save!  It was Chino Guinto!  The fans roared as loud as they could at that moment of the show!

This blogger will say that Chino looks in great shape and ready for a battle.  Certainly, it's up to Filipino Pro Wrestling and it's management to make the right decision.  In the minds of the FPW fans, the shouts of reinstatement and a title match are coming from the fans and social media.

And that means Unfinished Business on Sunday, September 14th!  "Do you hear the people Red Ollero?"  Please make the match!
