Interview #20 - Filipino Pro Wrestling's AB3

AB3 in recent action.  Photo courtesy of Brandon Reichmann

Hello everyone.

As some of you may know, this blogger has been fortunate in interviews.  Getting a chance to do one is something that this blogger loves.  However, the fans and perhaps, other wrestlers really enjoy it as well.

Over this past winter, and since the blog started, I've been lucky, and fortunate, to interview several members with Filipino Pro Wrestling.  Two of the members are with the faction, SIGMA in LegenDarius and Jason Rex.

Knowing that the 2025 wrestling season is upon us, it is definitely, more than fitting, to interview the third member of SIGMA in AB3.

AB3, in my opinion, has been a successful wrestler in a previous promotion, PWR, both as a singles and tag team wrestler.  Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to see him during my only show in August 2023.

However, about five months later, he did return to action.  The turning point in his career happened in the final 2024 show in October.  AB3, after a match as part of a tag team, joined forces with LegenDarius and Jason Rex.  Not only it made AB3 better, but the faction, SIGMA, and FPW.  The feeling, and it's a strong one, is that SIGMA is putting FPW, as well as, Pinoy Wrestling, on notice in 2025 and beyond!  As an opponent, I don't believe they are comfortable seeing AB3 opposite them.  He's strong and agile.  That is for starters.  Now, he's part of a faction.

Recently, this blogger shared a few questions with AB3.  Here is how the interview went.  Hope all of you enjoy it.

Wayne -  When did you begin to train as a pro wrestler and who was your trainer?

AB3 - I started training around 2015. During that time I have had several trainers in PWR, and amazing trainers in FPW but in all the times that I have been training, no one have trained my mind and soul better than LegenDarius. PWR allowed me to start walking while FPW allowed me to start running but LegenDarius have allowed me to fly.

Wayne -  Who is your favorite wrestling promotion or promotions?

AB3 - WWE. They are probably the BEST mainstream wrestling promotion. I see them being better than AEW by a mile.

Wayne - What are your thoughts on the group SIGMA and your teammates Jason Rex and LegenDarius?

AB3 -  SIGMA and LegenDarius has changed my point of view in life for the better. Thanks to him I am now living a nicer life. All his teachings have pivoted me to a life is greater than those who do not follow the SIGMA lifestyle. I am now certain that choosing the SIGMA lifestyle and following LegenDarius is the right decision. Jason Rex is nice.

Wayne - What are your thoughts on pro wrestling now and it's future in the Philippines?

AB3 - Pro wrestling in the Philippines has been in the country for quite a while now with lots of regular fans but we have not yet reached the point of being mainstream. With LegenDarius now in FPW I can see a very bright future for Pro Wrestling in the Philippines.

Thank you so much AB3.  All the best to you, LegenDarius and Jason Rex this year and beyond!

Soon, we will have another interview with one of your favorite wrestlers, fans and/or other people in the pro wrestling world.  Please check back soon!

FPW Astig March Show Update #8

Hello everyone.

FPW's Astig show will take place on Sunday, March 23rd at the Baked Studios beginning at 2pm in Makati City.

FPW President, Red Ollero, has a very difficult decision to make as to who is the #1 contender for the FPW Title that is held by Jeff Cobb.  For those fans who have been under a rock during the past week, we don't even know where Jeff Cobb is going.  There have been reports that he is WWE bound according to some sources.  The last time this fan checked, he is still wrestling with NJPW.  Go figure!

Regarding the four wrestlers who claim to be the number one contender for the upcoming FPW Championship (whenever that will be), there are at least four scenarios to go about it.  Certainly, the FPW fans are probably tired of all the stuff that is on the page every few days.  Since I'm not a match maker, here are the possible scenarios........

1)  President Red Ollero selects the number one contender.

2)  Have a fan poll taken to decide the number one contender.  At this point with less than one week away, the number two idea is really useless!

3).  Have a tournament to decide the number one contender.  That would be three matches for the show.  Since there are three or four other matches that are scheduled already, having a tournament will make for a great show.

4) And this is, by far, the worst one, and that it make no decision before Sunday and keep everyone guessing.

It will be interesting to see what may or may not happen before Sunday, March 23rd.  Tickets are still available.  Please visit the FPW - Filipino Pro Wrestling Facebook page for more.  Thank you.

Interview #19 - New Mr. Geylang - Raj

Mr. Geylang Raj (center) after ROR's recent show.

Hello everyone.

The next wrestling interview is an exciting one for this blogger.

A new wrestler from Singapore, Raj, is making major strides in pro wrestling.  Raj wrestles for Ring Of Rebirth, the newest of the three promotions in Singapore.

Before continuing, doing interviews on the blog has been a delight.  Ring Of Rebirth, along with Filipino Pro Wrestling and several others, have been very open and comfortable for how the interviews are done.  Thank you everyone for having the confidence in this blogger.  It's much appreciated.

Back to Raj, he's out of the ROR Training School and has been coached by The Eurasian Dragon and Nyc.  His first ever match was eye opening for this blogger.

Raj took on Ahmad Arif, a seasoned wrestler.  What I saw was someone that didn't look like a "rookie" or someone very new.  Raj defeated Ahmad Arif in a one fall match and things really took off.  The event took place at the ROR Experience 3 show in mid January.

Raj was rewarded later on, not just from the match he won.  After the January show, it was announced that Mr. Geylang, one of the initial wrestlers with the promotion, would retire from in ring action.  Mr. Geylang was trying to return from a serious injury he actually suffered in a training session.  For the fans who liked Mr. Geylang, he's still very much with the promotion and helping out The Eurasian Dragon.

The control of what is the Geylang Syndicate is now led by Raj.  He, along with Geylang Green and Alfred are the group.

Just last weekend in only his second match, Raj came up victorious again!  He defeated BGJ in a first round tournament match for the initial ROR Championship belt.  This blogger will never say that this was an upset win nor someone overlooked a newer wrestler.  I look at it is a one on one battle and who will win on a given day.

This fan talked with both The Eurasian Dragon and with Raj shortly after the show and got approval and agreement to do this.  Believe me, in talking with Raj, it is so refreshing to feel the energy of what is happening for him now and his future.  Here is the interview...

Wayne: When did you first begin to train at a wrestling school, academy or camp?

Raj: I started training on the 15th of Nov 2024. I wanted to have a tryout in a wrestling school in singapore. I met a colleague her name is Joy. We talked a lot about wrestling. She introduced a wrestling school (ROR). I did a trail class, and I loved it. Wayne: When did you first watch pro wrestling on television, video or stream. Do you have a favorite promotion that you follow?

Raj: The first wrestling match that I saw was Beth Phoenix vs Mickie James - Raw 2008. I don't really have a favorite wrestling promotion. I love all kinds of wrestling around the world. But if I had to choose a favourite, it would be NXT and Ring of Honour.

Wayne: Who is your favorite wrestler growing up or even currently?

Raj: (1) Athena is one of the greatest female wrestlers. I love watching her in the ring. 2) The Statement Andruew Tang. He is the Godfather of Singapore Pro Wrestling. 3) Mickie James is one of the greatest female wrestlers of all time. Her iconic feud with Trish Stratus and Beth Phoenix is one of my favourites.

Wayne: What are your thoughts on pro wrestling with Ring Of Rebirth and/or for the matter, wrestling in Singapore?

Raj: Singapore pro wrestling is growing all through the years, and it will continue to grow. The wrestling community in Singapore is passionate. With the guidance of our current coaches and trainers in Singapore, I believe that we can expand and evolve. The future appears bright. We might witness the emergence of more local wrestlers and possibly even bigger events that draw attention.

Anyone active in, or curious about the Singaporean wrestling scene is in for an exciting experience.

Wayne:  One more question.  How many hours do you train per week since you are in school right now?

Raj:  I usually train in the ring for about three to four times a week.  My classes are in the morning.  Once that is done, I head to my part time job.  I'm a gym coach for kids.  The job ends about 6pm to 7pm.  After that, I'll head to the ring.

Wow! Thank you so much for the interview and sharing your input regarding wrestling, with Ring Of Rebirth, and the wrestling scene in Singapore. This fan believes in you, the pro wrestling scene with ROR, Singapore and for that matter, all of Southeast Asia. All the best for you and everyone involved now and the future!
