SETUP Thailand: EP21 - Double Cross Update #4

Hello everyone.

A "major" match has just been added for SETUP Thailand's show, EP21; Double Cross.  The event will take place at The Circus Studio, G Village, Bangkok on Saturday, March 22nd beginning at 6:30pm.

SETUP Thailand's Matcha, arguably the top female wrestler in Thailand, will face SPW's Alexis Lee in one terrific match!  The winner of the 20 minute time limit battle will get a future shot at the SETUP All Asia Women's Championship.  The title is currently held by Pom Harajuku.

Both women have held titles in their respective countries.  Matcha was the first winner of the SETUP All Asia Women's belt and held the title for nearly a year (315 days).  She lost to the current champion but is stepping up her game for another opportunity at this title sometime in the near future.

Alexis Lee is one amazing woman!  In her career, she has won four different titles and is currently the CWE Vixen's Champion!  She has held this title for 2445 days as of this post and has held it proudly against numerous opponents. Her title won't be on the line in this match.

This match is definitely main event material.  The two wrestlers have faced each other one other time to my knowledge.  It happened back in June 2022 when Matcha won at SETUP's EP6 show.  At the time, both promotions, along with the rest of pro wrestling worldwide, were recovering from the Covid-19 epidemic.  The statement here is not to make excuses, but factual.  The situation for both wrestlers, and promotions, is a better one today!

A Great Women's Champion

Hello everyone.

Back in August 2023, this blogger had an opportunity to meet one of the greatest female wrestlers, not only in Southeast Asia but throughout the world.

It was the Dexcon Meet And Greet show at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.  I had read about Alexis Lee going back to my early days following Southeast Asia pro wrestling.  This fan had just finished paying for a ticket and souvenirs when we met.  She was very cordial and nice, something that was really cool.

She is still young in age but has wrestled in Southeast Asia now for 11 years.  What is more impressing is with her frame (which is 5'5" and 108 pounds), she has definitely been able to hold her own in a wrestling ring.  She's athletic and moves around quickly in the squared circle.

Alexis has held four championships in her career.  The title that she has held the longest is the CWE Vixen's Championship.  It's a title that she has held for a whopping 2438 days, or close to seven years.  She won the title, not in Southeast Asia, but Orlando. Florida against Amber Nova.  The title has been defended in several countries such as the Philippines, China, South Korea, Malaysia and her home country, Singapore.

When this fan saw her live, she was defending the SPW Queen Of Asia Title in a fatal four way match successfully.  And she wasn't done either.  Alexis became a special guest referee in a Dark Eight Person Tag Team match that ended the show.  She handled the duties as if she had been doing it for years.

On a certain website, this blogger has seen the comments that says she's overrated.  I'm sorry but people who make these comments probably have never stepped into a ring or a mat format.  I'd like to see if they would have a chance against a great one!

For the fans in Singapore, you will see Alexis Lee in action in the next SPW Unchained Show on Friday, March 7th.  She will be teaming with Da Butcherman against Andruew Tang and Yuki Kamifuku in a tag team match.  Hopefully, those that read this will get their tickets and see her in action!
