PUSO Wrestling Karera Show Update #1

Hello everyone.

 

PUSO Wrestling's next show, Karera, will take place on Sunday, July 6th at the Brawl Pit Bulusan, Quezon City, beginning at 6pm.

 

Since the last post a few days ago, three matches have been added to the show.

 

First and foremost, the SETUP Thailand 24/7 Championship will be on the line.  RGT's, Jake De Leon, the champion will take on Isaiah Valencia.  In this fan's mind, this will be Isaiah's biggest match in his young career.

 

Also, there will be a #1 Contender's match for the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship in a five way encounter.  The participants will be Danny Zamora, Jomar, Fabio Makisig, Nigel San Jose and Crystal.

 

Also, Super Friends, Patricia Ligaia and El Kapitunero have issued an open challenge for a tag team match.  Who will step up and be their opponents?

 

Finally, already mentioned from the previous post, "The Red Lightning" - Robin Sane will face the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Champion, Main Maxx for the title.

PUSO Wrestling's Weekemd Results

 

Hello everyone!

Here are the official results from this past weekend's PUSO Wrestling shows, Pinoy Wrestling Night 2 and A Night Of Headlocks And Headbangs.  Both shows were a huge success and was arguably one of the best weekends ever in the history of Pinoy wrestling.

WUW Philippines Master Clash Results

Hello everyone.

 

Here are the results from World Underground Wrestling Philippines show, Master Clash.  The show was held at the Brawl Pit Bulusan this past Saturday night.

 

The Rock Heads d. Dabid Ravena and Aaron Liwanag and are the new WUW World Tag Team Champions.

Fabio Makisig and Jake De Leon d. Robin Sane and Nigel San Jose.

Main Maxx d. El Kapitunero and remains the PUSO Pusong Wrestling Champion.

Also, it was announced at the upcoming Dexcon Dakila show in May, Jake De Leon and Zack Sabre Jr. will take on Fabio Makisig and El Phantasmo in the main event of the show.  A few hours later, Dexcon announced that the show is SOLD OUT!  Please check the Dexcon - DXCN Facebook page for any updates regarding possible extra tickets to the May 18th event!

Feature On Robin Sane

Hello everyone.

 

Pinoy wrestling fans are definitely among the most passionate wrestling fans on the planet, if not the most.  They definitely know wrestling when they see it.

 

One wrestler that is well known in the Metro Manila area is The Red Lightning, Robin Sane.

 

Since this fan began to follow pro wrestling in Southeast Asia, Robin has been one of my favorites.  He's not the biggest wrestlers in size in the region.  However, his athletic ability, agility and speed, more than make up for it.  Definitely, he has the heart which is extremely important.

 

Robin's wrestling career began with Philippine Wrestling Revolution back in September 2014.  Eventually, he would join a new promotion in the Manila Wrestling Federation a  couple of years later in 2016.  In that time, he faced some well known wrestlers such as Ho Ho Lun, The Eurasian Dragon and Andruew Tang who are with various SEA promotions.

 

In December 2018, Robin Sane would climb to the top of the mountain.  In the finals of the MWF Pinoy Wrestling Championship tournament, he would defeat Fabio Makisig and would become the inaugural champion.  It is a match that has, and still is talked about, in Pinoy wrestling history!  The match took place at the UP Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City.

 

Sane would defend the title successfully on three occasions before losing the belt in a very controversial decision in July 2019 at the Chinatown Mall.  Unfortunately, Robin never got the rematch that he totally deserved.  One of the major issues was Covid-19 which affected pro wrestling, especially throughout Southeast Asia.

 

He didn't give up however.  Robin would wrestle in WUW - Philippines and Dexcon shows along with an occasional MWF show before the promotion folded in May 2024.

 

Some of the bigger highlights would definitely be the match he had with SETUP Thailand's Shivam in March 2024.  Also, there was the tag match last November in Thailand.  Robin would team up with SETUP's Monomoth to face IWA SETUP's The Good Deal for the tag team titles.  To date, this blogger has been told that it was The Good Deal's stiffest competition to date.

 

At the December 2022 MWF Noche Buena show, this blogger had a chance to meet Robin.  He was gracious with his time.  I've always felt that if there was any kind of title opportunity in Southeast Asia, he can win another title!  I still feel that way today!

 

Next month, Robin, along with Nigel San Jose will face Jake De Leon and Fabio Makisig in the WUW Philippines Master Clash show at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.  The winner of the tag match will face Zack Sabre Jr. and El Phantasmo, two of NJPWs greats in an International Tag Team match at the Dexcon Dakila show. 

 

Knowing Robin like I do, the upcoming match is no pushover for the opponents.  Jake and Fabio are great wrestlers.  However, anything can happen. 

WUW Philippines Master Clash Update #7

Hello everyone.

 

It has been determined, I'm taking it by Match Maker Miguel, that the tag teams for the WUW - Philippines Master Clash show are set.

 

The team of Fabio Makisig and Jake De Leon will face Nigel San Jose and Robin Sane.  The winner of this match next month will face Zack Sabre Jr. and El Phantasmo in May at Dexcon's Dakila show.  It will be their main event which is already termed as an International Dream Tag Team Match!

WUW Philippines Master Clash Show Update #4

Hello everyone.

 

There is an additional match added to the WUW Philippines Master Clash show scheduled for Saturday, April 5th.  The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

 

Four victorious wrestlers from the WUW Philippines Tagay Na! show that happened last year were randomly selected.  Please note that the two teams have not yet been formed.  The four wrestlers are Nigel San Jose, Jake De Leon, Robin Sane and Fabio Makisig (from left to right in the above photo).  

 

Whoever will be the winner of the tag team match at this show will main event the Dexcon: Dakila show in May in an International Dream Tag Team Match.

PUSO Wrestling Livestream IV Results

Hello everyone!

 

Here are the results from PUSO Wrestling's Livestream IV event.  The show was held at the Brawl Pit Bulusan this past Sunday night and was streamed on the promotion's You Tube channel.

 

Also, at the end of the livestream, a special announcement was made.  Please check it out.  Mysterious Wrestler - White Shirt made his debut at the show.  Also, a special thank you to pro wrestler, Giga Herrera, a special guest at the show.  Giga wrestles for a promotion called Total Wrestling Federation, an independent promotion out of Sacramento, CA.  

 

Without getting into trouble here, let's just say that Giga had a great time in the Philippines over the weekend and was a very busy man!

WrestleStorm 2 Update #2

Hello everyone!

 

The next Dexcon show, WrestleStorm2 is coming up on Sunday, March 16th at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.

 

We've been waiting from Match Maker Linus on what the big announcement is!  We've heard that there's been a delay because of a trade that was rescinded in the NBA involving the Los Angeles Lakers.

 

Well, as a blogger, and being a Golden State Warriors fan, we wouldn't have trades that end up being rescinded.  However, that is for another time since this is pro wrestling!

 

The big news, and this didn't come from Linus, but WUW-PH Match Maker Miguel IS the following....

 

Mr. Philippine Wrestling - Jake De Leon AND Japan's legendary wrestler, Yoshi Tatsu will take on PUSO Wrestling's Fabio Makisig and Jomar in a tag team match!

 

I'm told by my sources that Dexcon is livid that the information leaked out.  This blogger has heard the words of scoundrel and some other stuff I cannot repeat.  As all of you know, this is a "G" rated blog.

 

Also, this blogger didn't mention this yesterday because he wanted the great Pinoy Wrestling fans to watch the You Tube Livestream III video.  

 

Since there's been a lot of material out on social media, this blogger can now share the following info.  Super Friends (Super P. and El Kapitunero), at the end of the stream yesterday, have issued an open challenge at the WrestleStorm 2 event!  This is no ordinary challenge either.  Super P. did say it can be any tag team in the Philippines, any tag team in Southeast Asia, and/or any tag team on the planet!

 

Please stay tuned as there could, very well, be another announcement very soon!  This blogger will assure the viewers that it won't come from me.  Pro Wrestling Today only provides the information.

PUSO Wrestling Livestream II Results

Hello everyone!

 

Apologies if the link is a bit long.  Here are the results from PUSO Wrestling's Livestream II event.  The show took place on Sunday evening at the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.

 

The Livestream II video began with PUSO Wrestling's, Isaiah Valencia introducing Fabio Makisig.  Six trainees (one woman and five men) were introduced as part of PUSO Factory's first batch.  The factory was announced by Mr. Philippine Wrestling's Jake De Leon a few weeks earlier.

 

The six aspirants went through several activities with a few fans in attendance.  Seeing a wrestling factory, this is a small part of what participants do in preparation to become a future pro wrestler.

 

Thank you to Jake, Fabio, Nigel and a number of PUSO Wrestling's members for leading a group of, hopeful, future members of the roster!

Following the 25 minute activity, there was three matches on the livestream.  The program closed out with Isaiah Valencia sharing the upcoming Dexcon and WUW Philippines events in March and April.

Puso Wrestling's Next Show

Hello everyone!  Apologies for not posting lately.

 

PUSO Wrestling's next show, Pusong Pinoy, will take place on Saturday, November 30th.  The venue is once again the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City beginning at 6pm.  Here is what is happening.

 

The finals for the inaugural Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship will be decided that evening.  Aaron Liwanag will take on Main Maxx in what will be a banger of a match!  Both wrestlers are undefeated since PUSO Wrestling began last summer.  Aaron Liwanag will be battling for his first championship while Main Maxx will battle for his first championship in several years.

 

In other matches signed,  Dabid Ravena and Kurt Jiminez, returning to action, will face Nigel San Jose and Fabio Makisig, returning to action.  Ravena and Jiminez are part of the revival group, MSG led by Mr. Sy along with the Pinay Vixen, Chelsea Marie.  Nigel San Jose and Fabio Makisig have teamed up before in tag team action and will prove a huge test, and revenge, against the MSG team.

 

There will also be a Pwersang Pinay Gauntlet match involving Crystal, Chelsea Marie, Joya, Super P., Patricia Ligaia, Roxxy from Wrestlefest DXB (Dubai) and a wrestler yet to be named.  Yappy will be the special guest referee for the match.

 

In a three way, Mr. Philippine Wrestling's, Jake De Leon will take on Shaheen from Wrestlefest DXB and Shigehiro Irie from Japan in a huge encounter.

 

Also, Isaiah Valencia will take on Jomar in singles action.

 

In a four way for the #1 contender for the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship, it will be Danny Zamora vs. Joey Rosas vs. Ken Cifer vs. El Kapitunero.  The winner of this match will get a title shot at whoever is the champion.

 

Finally, there will be a tag match between Hakai Mateo and Alien Friend vs. Serafin Liwanag and Kapatid na ???.  The stipulation is this per General Manager, Sonny Go.  If Hakai Mateo and Alien Friend win the match, Serafin Liwanag and Kapatid na ??? will be barred from ringside during the Pusong Pinoy Championship Match.

Unang Tibok Update

Hello everyone!

There has been a change for the Jun Capilos Jr. Battle Royal this coming Saturday.  Due to an injury, Fabio Makisig will not be able to compete in the match at the Unang Tibok show.  Taking his spot in the event will be WUW Philippines' own Robin Sane!  Hopefully the injury is not serious and will see Fabio back in action soon!

Wrestling Show Preparation

In various countries, there are ways that promotions prepare for wrestling shows.  Wrestling rings are one of them.

 

Some of this is similar to my experiences of preparing a track for another sports entertainment in North America known as Roller Derby.

Unang Tibok Update #3

Hello everyone!

 

PUSO Wrestling, as been mentioned over the past couple of weeks, will be having their inaugural show. Unang Tibok, on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 6pm. The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City, PH.

 

Up until this post, there will be a Main Event match and four quarter final matches of a tournament.  The tournament of seven matches overall will determine who will be the first Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Champion.

 

There is one additional match that has been added to the show.  The Jun Capilos Jr. Battle Royal, an over-the top elimination battle royal will feature six wrestlers, all capable of winning the event.  

 

This blogger knows the family from a couple of shows last year.  Jelson and his two daughters have always been supportive in the short time we've known one another.  Thank you to the Capilos family who has supported shows and Pinoy wrestling in general!

 

The wrestlers involved in the match are Fabio Makisig, Patricia Ligaya, Dabid Ravena, Ken Cifer, Danny Zamora and Brother Benny.

There are good possibilities that Dexcon and WUW - Philippines will put on. at least, another show before year's end.  Also, PUSO Wrestling has mentioned that there will be an August show.  Details are forthcoming.  This blogger will have it on this blog as soon as the announcement is made!

Tagay Na! Show Update #7

Hello everyone!

Here is the updated lineup of matches for the Tagay Na! wrestling show scheduled for this coming Sunday, July 7th.  The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

 

Main Maxx vs. Silent D in an "I Quit Match"

Dabid Ravena vs. Zera vs. Nigel San Jose in a Triple Threat Match.

Fabio Makisig vs. Isaiah Valencia in a Singles Match.

Robin Sane vs. Pinoy Bulldog in what is called "New School vs. Old School" or perhaps the other way around.  This blogger respects Old and New School Wrestling.

"Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon vs. El Kapitunero in a Submission Match.

And Finally

Turn Zero Kill (Saint John Martin and Ken Cifer) vs. High Proof (Kanto Terror and Razael).  The match is for the World Underground Wrestling World Tag Team Championship held by Turn Zero Kill.  The match has been determined as a Tornado Tag Team No Disqualification match.  What this means, if it is correct is that all four  wrestlers can be in the ring as the same time.

 

If anyone saw the press conference involving the two teams, things got rather chaotic.  The one thing this blogger has learned from Pinoy Wrestling matches is the following....  Never wake up a sleeping giant!  I will leave that statement at that!

WUW Show Update #1

There are a couple of updates regarding World Underground Wrestling's next show, Tagay Na!  The event takes place on Sunday, July 7th, 6pm, at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.

 

Fabio Makisig, one of the great Pinoy wrestling stars, and the Ace Of Philippines Wrestling, will take on up and coming wrestler, Isaiah Valencia. This will be the first time both wrestlers have faced each other in a match.  For Isaiah, this will be his biggest challenge against one of the greats, not only in the Philippines, but all of Southeast Asia.

 

Also, I don't know much about him, but One Man Kru, a Lineal World Champion will be coming to WUW - Philippines.  This massive athlete has faced the likes of Tony Atlas, Rhyno, 2 Cold Scorpio and others.

Dexcon Decada Recap And Results

Hello everyone!

 

This past weekend's Dexcon Decada show and Meet And Greet will go down as the most memorable and historical moments in Pinoy Wrestling history.

 

The weekend began with a Meet And Greet at the Collective Base B2 GH at the Greenhills Prominade.  Everyone performing at the show was there to meet the fans who were there.

 

On Sunday evening, despite the rainy conditions, Pinoy wrestling fans flocked the Brawl Pit Bulusan to see their favorite wrestlers in action.  Though this blogger wasn't there, he has received numerous messages.  The show was exciting, exceeded the expectations of everyone, and was definitely entertaining.  Certainly, no one left the Brawl Pit Bulusan disappointed last night.

 

I'm told that the seven matches were great.  The Main Event between "Mr Philippine Wrestling" - Jake De Leon and "The Best Technical Wrestler" - Zach Sabre Jr. was in the opinion of many, the best match ever in the Philippines.  That speaks volumes considering that modern day professional wrestling is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2024!  The bar was definitely set for what is to come from Dexcon and the Pinoy Wrestling scene going forward!


There are a lot of thank you's to go around.  Please bear with this blogger on this.  My apologies if there is anyone I left out.  Please message me and will update this post.

Thank you to Zach Sabre Jr. and to The Horrors (Dr. Gore and Da Butcherman) for traveling to the Philippines and sharing knowledge with the local wrestlers in the country and participating in the show.  Everyone involved this past weekend appreciates what you guys have done for Pinoy Wrestling.

 

Also, thank you to the local wrestlers who participated in the show.  The feeling here is that Pinoy Wrestling is definitely alive and well.  You guys (Robin, JDL, Fabio, Main Maxx, ROMEO, Rex, AFAM Steve, Zera, Chelsea Marie, Dabid, Razael, TZK, Bulldog and other wrestlers who were at the show but didn't wrestle) deserve more credit than has been given to you.  This blogger will continue in trying his best to promote something that all of you and I love.  Please continue to pursue your dreams!  It is really appreciated here.

 

To the fans, thank you.  Those of you who went to the show spent your hard earned money and traveled to Brawl Pit Bulusan in rainy conditions.  This blogger heard that the conditions were torrential during the day on Sunday.  Despite things that were out of your control, you believed and still believe, that Pinoy Wrestling is alive and well.  I want to include those who were not at the show but continue to support it.  Your support is important right now.  Dexcon will continue to do what they can to bring a quality product.  This blogger is convinced of that!  Some of you shared the evening with me and am grateful of the communication!  

 

Finally, thank you to the Dexcon staff for making this happen.  Linus, Martin, Rosh, Cholo, SJM and other people in the staff worked tirelessly to make this show happen in spite of things that were beyond their control.  Thank you for making this happen for the Pinoy Wrestling Community.  All the best to Dexcon in any upcoming shows (August hopefully!)!
