SETUP Thailand EP23: Under Pressure Update #5

Hello everyone.

SETUP Thailand's next show, EP23: Under Pressure, will take place on Saturday, July 26th at The Circus Studio beginning at 5:30pm.

With the show a little over two weeks away, an interesting match has been made.

This blogger has been following the "break up," as one would call it, of a tag team formerly known as The Good Deal.  Only an opinion here, but The Good Deal are, arguably, the best tag team in Thailand pro wrestling history.  As of this post, they have been the IWA Japan SETUP Tag Team Champions for 347 days.

On July 26th, Anont Alonzo will take on Mr. Suchart in a Winner Take All match.  The winner will claim both tag belts AND will have a right to choose a new tag team partner freely.  This would mean, unless something unusual happens, the current team will officially end their reign as tag champions with this match.  As it was mentioned on SETUP's Facebook page, the decision to make this match historically is a first for SETUP and IWA Japan.

Tickets are still available for the show.  Please visit the SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling page on Facebook for more information.  Thank you.

SETUP Thailand EP23 - Under Pressure Update #4

Hello everyone.

SETUP Thailand's next pro wrestling show, EP23 - Under Pressure, will take place on Saturday, July 26th.  The venue is The Circus Studio - G Village beginning at 5:30pm.

An International Intergender Match with Special Rules has been made.  SETUP Thailand's Jeney will go one on one against BGJ, one half of the Singapore Pro Wrestling SEA Tag Team Champions.  Here are the rules for this anticipated match up.

If Jeney pins BGJ at the two count, she wins the match.  If BGJ pins Jeney at the three count, he wins the match.

A win or loss by submission, knockout or disqualification will follow the promotion's standard rules.

There has been a "squabble" that has gone on for several weeks between the two.  There was the rumor that Jeney was going to appear at an upcoming SPW show in which SPW denied.  Also, BGJ has commented that he's very confident about the upcoming match.  It will certainly be interesting how this match plays out.

For tickets and more information on the upcoming show, please visit the SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling Facebook page.

SETUP Thailand EP23 - Under Pressure Update #3

Hello everyone.

While this blogger was asleep, there has been an announcement and a match match for SETUP Thailand's next show.  The event is called EP23 Under Pressure.  Venue is The Circus Studio G Village on Saturday, July 26th beginning at 5:30pm.

Jonathan Johnson, recently crowned the IWA Japan SETUP World Heavyweight Champion, will have the challenge of his life three weeks from now.

He will be taking on Chris Brookes, someone who is very familiar in wrestling rings and show in Thailand, and Andruew Tang, the SETUP Thailand Openweight Champion in a Three Way Match for JJ's title.

This blogger has always said that Three Way Matches are to the disadvantage of the champion.  The champion does not have to be pinned for a title to change hands.  For example, let's say that Andruew Tang pins or submits to Chris Brookes, then either Tang or Brookes wins the title.  It's up to Jonathan Johnson to either pin or for Andruew or Chris to submit to him.

There's been a long rivalry between Johnson and Tang in which Johnson has never beaten Tang cleanly.  There has been interference in matches over the past year whether it's been singles or tag team encounters.  Also, now with Jonathan as the champion, when one is the champion, you are more "the hunted" rather than "the hunter."  On July 26th, fans will see how this one turns out.

Tickets are still available for the show.  For more information, please visit the SETUP Thailand Facebook page.  SETUP Thailand can be seen on various social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram and You Tube.  Thank you.
