VPW Saigon Slam Update #1

Hello everyone.

Vietnam Pro Wrestling's next event, VPW Saigon Slam, will take place on Saturday, April 19th.  The location is the VAIB Studio D7 and show time is at 7pm.

One match has been made.  The British Horror, fresh off a victory, will face VPW Openweight Champion, Hy Draco for the title.

In the last show, The British Horror defeated fan favorite, Rocky Huynh.  He has a three match win streak with his last defeat to Khoa Truong last June.  He will be shooting for his first singles title.

Hy Draco was victorious in an eight man tag team event.  This will be his second defense of the title he won last October over Ares.  He defeated Long Xiumin in his first defense in the November show.

WUW Philippines Master Clash Update #6

Hello everyone.

A major match has been added for the WUW Philippines Master Clash show scheduled for Saturday, April 5th.  The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City, PH. beginning at 6pm.

Back last November at the PUSO Wrestling's final show of 2024, El Kapitunero won an important match.  The reward would be the number one contender spot for the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

Because he was involved in a major tag team match at the last month's Dexcon show earlier in the month, he would be given the opportunity the next time the championship was on the line.  It just so happens to be this show.

In the same Dexcon show, Main Maxx would successfully make his first title defense by defeating Dr. Gore from SPW.

The upcoming title match will be a submission match.  Now, some people will think that is in Main Maxx's favor because he's bigger and possibly stronger than El Kapitunero.  However, this blogger and fan knows that El Kapitunero, pound for pound, is one of the strongest wrestlers for his stature in all of Southeast Asia.  He has proven time and time again to have the heart of a champion!

That being said, tickets are still available for the show.  Please visit the World Underground Wrestling Philippines - WUW Philippines Facebook page.  Thank you.

TOP Dojo Overheat Update #2

Hello everyone.

TOP Dojo has announced an additional match for it's show TOP Dojo: Overheat.  The event will take place on Sunday, April 6th, 12:30pm at the Motorway Dojo near the ARL Hua Mak Station.

Best Boonpa of Revolution Squad will take on, what turns out to be former member of the group, Jay Yuu.  It is a singles match, one fall with a 20 minute time limit.

Word has it that Jay Yuu, who was injured prior to the last show, left the group.  He felt that he could be strong by going solo and not being part of Revolution Squad.

Best Boonpa looked at this as a betrayal and decided to challenge him after the end of the last show.  The match has been accepted.

For tickets and more information, please visit the TOP Dojo - Thailand Origin Pro Wrestling Facebook page.  Thank you.

SETUP Thailand EP21 Double Cross Results

Hello everyone.

Here are the results from SETUP Thailand's show, EP21 Double Cross.  The show took place this past Saturday night, March 22nd at The Circus Studio.  Normally, I don't do a recap unless this blogger was at the event.  However, this recap is important in various ways.

The show began with a tribute to Masa Takanashi by playing his intro song.  He took part in SETUP's very first show back in January 2020 and is a very familiar face to the fans in Thailand and throughout all of Asia.

Takanashi suffered an unfortunate neck injury a few days ago at a show in Japan.  All of us who have read about, or know him, we're thinking, praying, and are hoping for the best.  Our thought and prayers are with him at this time.

On to the show, this blogger heard, read and saw some clips.  It was wild to say the least.  A loud and boisterous crowd of 141 fans saw some great action.   The second, third and fourth matches were a part of the Uprising Series which will give everyone some much needed experience.

The final three matches had some great action and also, very interesting endings.  None of the SETUP Titles changed hands, but there were interesting developments that happened.  This blogger wasn't there, but word does get back, especially from about 12,800 kilometers away...

There was a chair shot that ended one match.

There was a referee, for some reason, that stopped a count in a tag match.  Heard some rumor going around that the referee was paid.

And then there was some interference from a wrestler who wasn't supposed to be at ringside.  Not only that, he aligned with another wrestler after the match to become a group called the Real Global Threat.  Am hearing that RGT want to take over the local wrestling industry.

This fan, while doing this post is supposed to be unbiased here.  However, thanks to this blogger's regional wrestling hero, JDL, he stopped RGT before any further damage was done.  This blogger hears that our regional wrestling hero will team up with Jonathan Johnson and have challenged RGT to a match scheduled this coming May.

AND.......if some things can be worked out back in America, this blogger WILL be visiting Thailand AND will be at the May show!  I want to thank several fans who shared some insights with the show as well as sharing pics, reels and more.  Also, thank you to SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling, to Pumi, the staff, and to all the wrestlers and fans involved.  It makes doing this post a whole lot easier to do.

Here are the results...

Anont Alonzo d. "Gatekeeper" Hyde in an open challenge.

Kevin Weng d. Kru Pol.

Flame Drake and Gunn wrestled to a 10 minute time limit draw.

Pondhub & Blick Drewz d. Chalee & Admin Oak.
